Temple School Visit the Community of Christ Temple School home page! The last Far West Mission Center Temple School (March 17/18) was not held due to a shortage of participants. The class has been rescheduled for April as listed below. Please register early and plan on attending a class. The classes listed below are open to anyone and would be very beneficial to all. Priesthood members are highly encouraged to take at least two (2) Temple School courses a year as a part of their ongoing continuing education and training. These classes can be taken through correspondence or through one of the courses offered locally. If you would like to see a specific class offered please let us know and we will try to arrange it. Also, if you would like to have a course offered in your cluster group or your congregation, let us know that also and we will be glad to help set it up and make it happen. Get a Catalog of all of the course offerings. Current Temple School Courses on the mission center calendar are: April 28 and 29 SS101: An Introduction to Understanding Scripture Instructor: Dennis Coleman This is not an overview of scripture content but a discussion about how to approach and use scripture. It covers the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants and how to use and study scripture from a variety of perspectives (New in 2001) May 19 and 20 SL101: An Introduction to Caring Ministries Instructor: Steve Calloway This course surveys the opportunities for caring ministry in the life of a disciple. Through prayer and meditation thoughts, readings, and activity suggestions, this course will help learners address the many facets of caring ministry.
